Indians ke khana khane wale haath

Oprah looked at the food and then made her best statement of the entire episode – “So I hear some people in India STILL eat with their hands”.

Why such hue and cry over Oprah's comment on Indians eating with hands? She has no idea about our culture. How can she ever understand? Yes we do eat with hands. And it's obvious that the food she is referring to is NOT burgers & subs, as most of the offended Indians are questioning. She was referring to the Indian main course roti (puri in her case) like rice & dal, dosa or idli. She is an alien to this food. How can she understand it is supposed to be eaten like that when the guide she is traveling with is himself a moron. Gregory David Roberts. The heroin addict & convicted bank robber took Oprah to the slums of Mumbai. You think he understands Indian culture as well as an Indian? So a statement based on opinion of two non-Indians is something that's bothering you? They always see India as they want to see it. A poor nation with hungry people wearing colorful clothes and bangles. Oh come on! You know if she was taken to the poshest India, her dialogue would be, "I want to see the REAL India." To hell with your 'real India' image Oprah. The Indian perception in the minds of the 1st time traveler is exactly how it's shown in the speech of the brit in 'Namaste London'. We can't do much to change it. And does it really matter of what they think of us? We know that there is more to India than slums and poverty. The world is seeing and will see our nation grow. Time will force them to accept a new image. Then a stupid comment like this won't matter. Oprah is just a stupid female with a bird's eye view of our country. Her comment is not even worth paying attention to. It's a moo point. Forget about Oprah, do you know there was a thief in the Bachchans house last night? That's a breaking news! Come let's talk about that. The 2nd episode of Oprah's show will have high TRP. Ismein kisi videshi shakti ka hath nahi, hum Indians ke hi khana khane wale haath hain.

Enough with the W omen & household

Recently I came across this comic . And   I started to think, w hy are such comics made? So many articles written? So many debates happen?...
